Dr. Jason McKean, MD is a board-certified Orthopaedic surgeon who is fellowship-trained in trauma. He treats injuries ranging from broken ankles in professional skateboarders to broken hips in retired senior citizens. He holds the academic title of Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell.Dr. McKean attended University of California, San Diego for his undergraduate degree and master s degree. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine and completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Columbia s New York Orthopaedic Hospital. He continued his training with a trauma fellowship at University of Louisville. He returned to New York and worked in trauma-heavy hospitals affiliated with academic institutions where he served as Chief of Orthopaedics and Chief of Trauma.Dr. McKean practices as an attending surgeon at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Medical Center and where he promotes a comprehensive and individualized approach to patient care. He specializes in fractures around the pelvis and fractures involving joint surfaces.
