The Jacob Burns Film Center opened in 2001 in a historic landmark building which was once the Rome Theater, one of Westchester County's first movie theaters. Since then, more than one million people have come to see thousands of independent, documentary and foreign films at this non-profit educational and cultural arts center. Filmgoers may want to consider the various membership levels offered with benefits like free and ticket discounts, priority purchase for selected events with guest speakers and access to members-only events. The center also sponsors screenings Under the Stars at Parkway Fields. Tickets can be purchased online.
