The International Academy of Hope (iHOPE) is a highly specialized private school in New York City that provides education and support to students, ages 5-21, with traumatic brain injury (TBI) and multiple disabilities. With a multidisciplinary approach and a focus on best practices, iHOPE offers a literacy-rich curriculum, cognitive strategies, assistive technology, therapeutic intervention, and transition services to help students thrive.

Since its establishment in 2013, iHOPE has grown to become a leading institution in the field of traumatic brain injury, serving over 80 students. In partnership with YAI, a nonprofit organization, iHOPE relocated to a larger site in 2022, enabling them to provide even more comprehensive support in a custom-designed facility. Through their dedication and incorporation of the latest technology and therapies, iHOPE empowers students with TBI to achieve greater independence and reach their unique goals.

The Gillen Brewer School - Special Education

The Gillen Brewer School, an independent school that focuses on special needs education helps its students grow through individualized attention, remarkably low student to staff ratios, and a strong relationship with the families it serves in New York. With students who have a variety of special needs, including autism and ADD, and a team of in-house therapists and specialists, Gillen Brewer takes a special approach to special needs education. This coeducational school’s official mission is straightforward: to educate and support its students to become confident, independent, and engaged learners.
