The Town of Huntington - Zoning Board of Appeals is part of the Planning & Environment department. Responsibilities include "reviewing applications and creating the record for land-use decisions."
This department is also responsible for providing assistance to the numerous town boards in order "to maintain the standards of the New York State Environmental Conservation Law Article 8, Part 617 regulations that make up the SEQRA law."
The Zoning Board of Appeals schedules hearings on a first come, first serve basis once an application has been completed. There is typically a two- or three-month wait for a hearing.
