Harlem River Community Rowing is a 16-year-old volunteer-driven organization that offers free rowing on the Harlem River for all New Yorkers. They are dedicated to expanding and enhancing access to the river for on-water physical fitness and recreation, serving the communities of Northern Manhattan and welcoming rowers from all backgrounds. In 2023, they rowed over 11,000km, got 150 people on the water, graduated 2 Learn to Row classes, ran 5 different programs, participated in 5 regattas, raced in 9 events, and medalled twice.
As they strive to continue thriving and providing the best experience for their members, Harlem River Community Rowing is launching an end-of-season fundraising effort. Their primary focus for 2024 is acquiring covers for their boats to protect them from the elements and extend their lifespan. Donations will also be used to improve facilities, enhance training equipment, and support additional programs to enrich the rowing experience for everyone involved. Supporters can make a donation, spread the word, or volunteer their time and skills to contribute to the club's success.
