The Golub Corporation is the parent company of Price Chopper supermarkets. Price Chopper is a medium-sized chain of supermarkets in Connecticut, Vermont, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Pennsylvania, with headquarters in upstate New York. It total, the company features more than 110 stores. The chain began operating as Central Market in Schenectady, N.Y., in 1933, and changed its name to Price Chopper in 1973. The Golub Corporation has always remodeled existing stores and acquired others' leases. Throughout the years it has added pharmacies, in-store scratch bakeries, custom-cut meat shops, seafood departments, a kosher store and super centers. The Golub Corporation maintains headquarters in Schenectady, N.Y.
