Established in 1817, The First Baptist Church conducts Bible study and provides worship services to its followers. The church has various ministries for men, women and youth. Located in Rome, N.Y., its clothing closet ministry provides clothing for those who have an emergency needs. The First Baptist Church is an active member of the American Baptist Churches of the United States and is part of the region known as the American Baptist Churches of New York State. The church participates in the various ministries of the Mohawk-Oneida Association of American Baptists.
