The Farmers' Museum is a private, nongovernmental educational organization. Established in 1944, the museum has a collection of more than 23,000 artifacts. It maintains a general store that offers traditional newspapers, decorative accessories, gift items and jewelry and prints by regional artists, sculptors, wood carvers and potters. The Farmers' Museum organizes a variety seasonal events, workshops, lectures, presentations, and arts and crafts sessions. The museum s wallpaper collection includes block-printed papers and roller-printed designs. The Farmers' Museum displays a 19th century farming community with a blacksmith shop, pharmacy, lawyers office, farm and tavern. It additionally exhibits a range of craft tools and textile products. The Farmers' Museum maintains a location in Cooperstown, N.Y.
