The Empire State Pipeline provides intrastate natural gas transportation services to industrial companies and utilities in the western and central New York area. Operational since 1993, it is a more than 155-mile pipeline that serves power producers who supply energy to over 1 million customers, including manufacturing facilities, local gas utilities and electric generation plants. The Empire State Pipeline also offers interstate transportation services to several pipelines. Its services and rates are regulated by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). The Empire State Pipeline is operated by National Fuel Gas Company, which is an integrated energy corporation that manages nearly $4.2 billion in assets.
