History
East Side Mysore Club started as a small group of friends practicing Ashtanga Yoga together in my apartment in 2005. After growing too large we moved to New York Yoga and eventually to Pure Yoga for 9.5 years. Today we run our program virtually on Zoom until the end of the COVID- 19 crisis. We offer authentic and individualized teachings to students of all levels from absolute beginners to advanced.
Specialties
Our Led/ Mysore weekday Zoom classes start with guided flow through the first few poses of primary, where students split individually, Mysore style and beginners are guided through a closing sequence. . Following the teachings of Manju Jois, and American lineage holders such as David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff. We offer a non dogmatic, positive environment to grow in strength, flexibility, balance, endurance and wisdom. The practice is individualized for each person and with modifications to assist with any special needs.
