Dr. Denise Howard grew up in Columbus, Mississippi. She did herundergraduate work at the University of Mississippi and then attended JohnsHopkins receiving a MD, MPH in 1993. She completed a residency in Obstetricsand Gynecology at the University of Pittsburgh's Magee Women's Hospital in 1997and then a fellowship in Urogynecology at the University of Michigan. Dr.Howard remained on faculty there until 2001 when she relocated to the Atlanta areawhere she was in private practice until 2010. She and her family moved to theMiddle East where she worked in various leadership positions in Abu Dhabi andDoha before returning to the U.S. at the end of 2019. Most recently she was the Chief of Gynecology for Geisinger Health System inDanville, Pennsylvania where she also had a faculty appointment at the medicalschool and served as core faculty for the residency program. She is BoardCertified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a Fellow of the American Collegeof Obstetricians and Gynecologists and a Certified Physician Executive. She isalso a member of the American Urogynecologic Society, Society of GynecologicSurgeons, and the American Association for Physician Leadership. Dr. Howard is committed to ensuring every woman receives quality care. She believesimproving health literacy, engaging women, and incorporating technology intohealthcare delivery is the way to equitable health.
