The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services is a multifunction criminal justice support agency that is responsible for the collection and analysis of statewide crime data and administration of federal and state criminal justice funds. The agency supports the operation of DNA databank and criminal fingerprint files and criminal justice-related agencies across the state. It specializes in fingerprinting, human trafficking and crime victim assistance services. The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services collects crime and arrest reports from over 500 New York state police departments and sheriffs offices and submits to the FBI under the National Uniform Crime Reporting Program. The department maintains a location in Albany, N.Y.
