Creekside, one of Cooperstown's first Bed & Breakfasts, a tall Colonial house built in 1849, opened it doors to accommodate guests by two of Glimmerglass Opera's founders and performers 35 years ago, Gwen Ermlich and her husband, the late Fred Ermlich. Today, memories of stage productions still play an important role at Creekside. In fact, before becoming an inn, the house had expanded out of necessity just to meet the needs of hosting both opening and closing night parties for opera productions for 13 years. Gwen refers to it as "a happy accident" when this routine turned into a family hospitality business. Creekside sits on four acres of lawn with a creek for fishing and swimming in beautiful upstate New York. We are five minutes to the Baseball Hall of Fame and good restaurants and 20 minutes to the Opera House. Gwen would be glad to make dinner reservations for you at wonderful restaurants that will be sure to get you out in time for the performances. We are 5 minutes to the Dreams Park, a Baseball Camp for 12 year olds & 15 minutes to Ommegang Brewery & concerts. The Baseball Hall of Fame is open year round with only three days closed, easy to guess which three. All rooms have either Queen or King size beds, Private Baths,Cable TV and Full Breakfast included in the rate. Some rooms have A/C or ceiling or window fans but also have Down Comforters as even in summer, the nighttime temperatures fall when the mountain air comes in. So it's a good idea to be prepared for night time performances at the Glimmerglass Opera Festival. Free WiFi is available also. Creekside is renowned for its wonderful breakfasts. Some guests have been coming for decades - come see why! Room Rates: $145.00 - $269.00 + tax Double Occupancy.
