Founded in 1980, The Multicultural Resource Center is a center for religion, ethics and social policy and is affiliated to the Cornell University. It is a nonprofit organization that provides information, contacts, support, workshops, trainings, books, tapes and celebrations around diversity issues to the individuals of Tompkins County in New York City. The organization provides individuals with materials and resources related to their culture and other cultures. It also organizes community workshops and celebrations to bring diversity awareness and cultural empowerment. The organization has a library that offers various books and magazines on a wide variety of topics and cultures, including fiction, ethnicity, social issues, children's books and poetry. The Multicultural Resource Center also provides book clubs, movie nights, poetry readings and storytelling to its members. The organization is located in Ithaca, N.Y.
