When Consultech began in 1985, the plan was to grow a company with the basic philosophy of the best service at a fair price for Unemployment Cost Management services. At the time, the biggest hurdle was the rapidly developing technology that was becoming more common place in the corporate landscape. Even though we knew our service was great, customers and prospects were comparing our level of technology to that of our competition. The days of providing claims reports to clients quarterly were becoming a thing of the past. By the time clients saw a report, a vast amount of claims had already been paid. What we needed to do was develop a reporting system that was web-based, accessible 24 hours/7 days a week, and that allowed our clients to review all of their claims activity instantaneously. Employers also did not want to provide us with hard copies of separation or wage information, a necessary ingredient in completing and processing claims on their behalf. So in addition to providing instantaneous access to claims information, we needed to develop a system of electronically receiving data from our clients to eliminate a high percentage of paper transmission. As technology was changing, we also had to change and evolve so we were not seen as a company that was limited to processing claims and controlling unemployment insurance tax rates. In addition to processing unemployment insurance claims, we expanded our services to include responding to Wage and Hour claims, and Discrimination and Harassment Claims. These services saved our clients a considerable amount of money because we are able to settle these claims for amounts far less than a law firm. Recently, Consultech added Human Resources Consulting, Employment Verification, and Background Screening to the list of many services we provide. The addition of these services and the expansion of our others, has positioned Consultech to compete with larger companies. We will continue to push beyond our competition by continuing to invest in a higher level of personnel who are well trained and who understand what it means to provide excellent customer service with a personal touch. Our marketing approach is simple: We stand behind our service 100%. Times change but our philosophy has not. The best service at a competitive price remains our pledge to every customer.
