The Consortium for Worker Education (CWE) is a non-profit workforce development organization based in New York City, established in 1985. CWE oversees a network of over 40 job training and placement providers across the five boroughs, serving as the workforce development arm of the New York City Central Labor Council AFL-CIO.
With a focus on providing vital training services to incumbent members across 36 union locals, CWE enrolled nearly 40,000 individuals in over 4,100 funded classes and placement initiatives last year. Committed to enhancing the state of the NYC workforce, CWE regularly commissions reports in partnership with academics and union/non-profit collaborators on its programming and impact.
