Founded in 1953, the Queen's Child Guidance Center operates more than 10 therapeutic sites and over 50 public schools. The center offers child development and support services for families with children up to the age of 5. It provides counseling services for children, adolescents and parents to improve the impact of emotional, behavioral and substance abuse programs. The Queen's Child Guidance Center additionally provides assistance with educational and literacy issues, as well as serves as a venue for conducting remedial tutoring sessions for youths. The center also provides family intervention services to protect children from child abuse, neglect and foster care placement. In addition, it supports several youth development and after-school programs.
