The Center for Reproductive Rights, formerly called the Center for Reproductive Law and Policy, is a nonprofit legal advocacy organization that promotes and defends women's reproductive rights worldwide. Founded in 1992, it provides access to contraception, abortion, health care information and pregnancy care services. The Center for Reproductive Rights motivates women to make reproductive and health care choices and decisions without coercion. It works to meet the safe, accessible and legal pregnancy options for women. The organization also works to provide equal access to reproductive health care for women who face social and economic barriers. Additionally, it discourages various social and cultural practices that harm women and girls, including female genital mutilation. The Center for Reproductive Rights is located in New York City.
