Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers (BFNC) was founded from the 1981 merger of Westminster Community House and Neighborhood House Association. It is a nonprofit agency that offers mental health care services for economically disadvantaged persons. The agency provides various programs for youths, adults and senior citizens, including discussion groups and exercises. BFNC offers residential, social rehabilitation, and case and financial management services. The agency also publishes a newsletter that features news, articles and personal stories. It operates with a budget from government grants, Medicaid income, and public and private donations from after school programs and summer day camps. The agency has a staff of more than 190 employees and assists over 14,000 people of various age groups throughout Buffalo and Erie counties in New York. BFNC is located in Buffalo, N.Y.
