The Benevolent & Protective Order of the Elks Lodge 1574 is on County Road 39 in Southampton, and includes a vast fairgrounds that the Elks rent out for carnivals and other events. The Southampton Elks's motto is "From this Elks Lodge, let no one leave a stranger." The Elks offer scholarships, sponsor charitable events and donate to local causes. Members meet at 7:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, except July and August, when they meet on the fourth Wednesday only. Only Elks members in good standing may attend meetings. The lodge has male and female members and a ladies auxiliary, The Ladies of the 1574 Club, who meet on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at the lodge.
