History
In 2008, Melissa Ben-Ishay was fired from her job in advertising. Passionate about baking since childhood, Melissa decided to do what she loved and Baked by Melissa was born. Today, Baked by Melissa is famous for its signature, bite-size treats. The brand introduced its first gluten-free product in November 2015, a line of six gluten-free, bite-size cupcakes. In January 2016, Baked by Melissa launched its first ever non-cupcake product, a line-up of six bite-size macarons. Baked by Melissa operates 14 stores, including a shop at JFK's JetBlue Terminal 5. Baked by Melissa is also available online for nationwide shipping.

Ever since she was a little girl, Melissa has loved to bake. So when she was fired from her job in advertising in 2008, Melissa decided from that moment on she was going to do what she loved. Drawing on inspiration from the care-free rock 'n roll culture of the 60's and 70's and the idea that people should be able to taste more flavors without that post-dessert guilt trip, Melissa engaged the help of some key people in her life, and in 2009 opened the first Baked by Melissa shop, in New York City's SoHo district.
