Dr. Asad Baig is a highly accomplished physician specializing in vascular and interventional radiology. He currently serves as an assistant professor of radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and an attending radiologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Baig has expertise in performing minimally invasive procedures to manage and treat a wide array of clinical conditions ranging from cancer care, pain and musculoskeletal/spine interventions to men's and women's health. He is one of the pre-eminent kyphoplasty doctors at Columbia and in New York City and is one of the physicians involved in Columbia’s HHT Center of Excellence. Additional areas of focus for Dr. Baig include pain interventions, fibroid and prostate embolization, liver and kidney cancer treatments, knee embolization and ablation, IVC filter retrievals and placement, angiomyolipoma treatment, venous stenting, and many other vascular and interventional medicine areas. After graduating as one of the 15 most influential students at NYU, Dr. Baig attended medical school at Howard University. He completed his Internship in surgery at Northwell Health and his Radiology Residency at Nassau University Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Baig received his fellowship training in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at Emory University.Dr. Baig is an active teacher of fellows, residents, and medical students and has authored numerous book chapters and research articles. He has given lectures and presentations in various fields of interventional radiology at national and international conferences. In addition, he is a member of several radiology societies including the Society of Interventional Radiology and Radiologic Society of North America.
