History
The LAB! is an outgrowth of our experiences in both therapeutic nursery and public school settings. While we have strong backgrounds in working with young children with special needs, our population tends to be children from local preschool and independent/public school settings. We continue to grow our knowledge base through continuing education courses and contact with other professsionals, including consultation at schools. PianoPlay is now used as a therapeutic activity, developing listening and turntaking skills, underlying timing and sequencing skills, along with fine motor development!
Specialties
At The LAB!, children develop skills needed for success at school, home and play: body awareness, coordination and balance; gross- and fine-motor skills, including handwriting and keyboarding; attention and focus; play skills; listening skills; planning and organization. In addition to our sensory gym, piano is used as a therapeutic activity. We are a purposely small practice, with much focus on parent, caregiver, and teacher understanding and involvement, as desired.
