Albany Electrical Contractors Association ( AECA ) was incorporated in 1938 as the Albany, New York regional chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association ( NECA ). NECA, itself, was founded in 1901 to promote the interests of qualified electrical contractors for the benefit of the customers and the public that they serve. AECA was founded to unite the electrical contractors of the Albany, New York Capital region so as to give them one combined voice both locally and at the national association level as well as to promote and support the mission of NECA in this area. AECA currently enjoys a solid membership comprising a majority of the electrical contractors in the area. On behalf of its members, AECA represents them at many levels including local and state government representation, union negotiations and labor disputation. NECA is the leader in the establishment of superior workforce training and management education for the industry, in setting the standards for electrical installation and in delivering cooperative partnerships with its clients to insure the highest quality installations and best value for its customers.
