History
The business started initially as just a coffee roasting venture, we wanted to bring back a good cup of coffee as it was intended years ago. We have a fairly large number of wholesale and retail customers throughout NY and across the country. The property the cafe is situated on now was formerly home to the Land of MakeBelieve, an amusement park designed by Arto Monaco strictly for children. The park closed in 1979 after a pretty significant flood caused more damage than Mr. Monaco could repair. After years of seasonal flooding and finally Tropical Storm Irene in 2011, only one building was left standing in decent condition - the former gift shop. At this point, we had been discussing expanding our coffee roasting venture and the Arto Monaco Historical Society wanted to see something done with the gift shop, so we got together. After a few more years than we anticipated, and a huge change in our business plans, here we are!
