San Juan Regional Medical Center
San Juan Regional Medical Center is a hospital serving Farmington, N.M. and San Juan County. Two local physicians originally started the small, 8-bed facility in 1952. The Board of Directors is selected from a hospital corporation, whose membership is made up of representatives from more than 86 nonprofit community organizations. San Juan provides specialized acute hospital care throughout the entire Four Corners region (Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah). It has more than 135 physicians representing more than 26 areas of general and specialty practice. The hospital, with a licensed capacity of l75 acute inpatient beds, also operates: a Level III Trauma Center, Urgent Care Center, a ground ambulance system, a regional air ambulance system, a comprehensive Cancer Center and is a partner in the 18-bed San Juan Regional Rehabilitation Hospital. It is a locally owned and governed nonprofit hospital with strong community ties, dating back to 1910.
