Founded in 1940 through funding provided by the Works Project Administration (WPA), the Roosevelt County Museum (RCM) is located on the campus of ENMU-Portales just off of Hwy 70 (W 2nd St). All displays in the museum have been donated by county residents. Upon entering, you'll be immediately swept backward in time to the early life and times of the residents of Roosevelt County. The displays include relics of the home including antique furniture and an Edison phonograph as well as the technology of the past as evidenced by a printing press and a medical instrument collection.
