Mr. Martinez, Architect and President of Martinez Architecture Studio P.C., is a native New Mexican. Raised in Albuquerque and Pecos, Richard is an alumnus of St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque. Richard traveled east to study architecture and graduated from Princeton University Cum Laude. After a year in Mexico restoring an colonial house, he moved to New York and graduated from Columbia University School of Architecture and Planning with a Masters of Architecture. Upon graduation from Columbia University, Richard received the New York Society of Architects' Del Gaudio Award for overall design at the School of Architecture. Richard returned to Santa Fe in 1989, establishing his office in 1992 and is currently restoring and expanding his great-grandfather's stone and adobe house as his own home.

Martinez Architecture Studio PC specializes in both commercial and residential architectural services. Richard Martinez has completed over 80 residential and commercial projects including two hotel facade renovations, eight restaurants and retail stores, several large homes in the historic district in Santa Fe, five studios for artists and numerous residential historic renovations, and one commercial renovation on the Plaza in Santa Fe.
