Jardin de Milagros (JDM) is a non-profit organization located in Anthony, NM, just south of La Union, NM, and west of Canutillo, TX. With approximately 3 acres of land under cultivation, JDM raises fresh vegetables to help feed the Food Insecure in El Paso, Texas. In addition to providing nutritious farm fresh vegetables to the hungry, JDM also offers an educational component, allowing youth groups to learn about food production and the importance of sustainable farming practices. Volunteers play a critical role in the success of JDM, with individuals, students from various educational levels, religious organizations, businesses, and public and civic groups all contributing their time and effort. The harvested food is primarily donated to Kelly Memorial Food Pantry, one of the largest food pantries in El Paso. During the summer growing season, vegetable picking occurs daily, while the cooler weather periods focus on field preparation for the next summer season. JDM's dedication to providing fresh produce and educating the community makes it a valuable asset in addressing food insecurity in the region.
