Creamland Dairies was formed in 1937 by a group of Albuquerque farmers and businessmen who bought out Albuquerque's oldest existing plant that was operated by the Albuquerque Dairy Association. In 1978, Creamland was acquired by Dean Foods Company. Dean Foods Company is one of the leading food and beverage companies in the United States. The Dairy Group division is one of the largest processors and distributors of milk and other dairy products in the country. It produces a line of company-branded and private label dairy products, including milk, ice cream and ice cream novelties, coffee creamers, half-and half, whipping cream, sour cream, cottage cheese, yogurt, dips, dressings, lactose-free milk, condensed milk and milk-based beverages. Creamland Dairies is located in Albuquerque, N.M., where it employs nearly 30 people.
