History
For over 100 years, a public library serving Carlsbad has been located in Halagueno Park. Surrounded now by sculptures, fountains, pathways, and shady trees, the library and museum complex is a community cultural icon. Since it's founding by the Women's Club of Carlsbad, the library building has gone through numerous incarnations over the years, from the first one-room wooden building to the current 21,000 square foot facility featuring an extensive adult reader collection of print and digital materials, an expansive children's library with computers, and a special teen area with comfy furniture and a computer. Free wireless Internet is available throughout the library and meeting room annex.
