Albuquerque International Sunport is the largest commercial airport in New Mexico and currently serves both Albuquerque and nearby Santa Fe. It is located in Bernalillo County, three miles from Albuquerque’s city center. The airport opened in 1937, before it had been two separate private airports.
ABQ has one terminal, which was built in 1965, with three concourses and 25 gates. Phoenix, Dallas and Denver are the most popular domestic destinations for travelers. There are busses, a train, shuttles and taxis available for commuting to and from the airport. If looking to stay the night the Sheraton Albuquerque Airport is on site.
Paid parking lots are available for an hourly rate, as well as options for long-term parking. Hourly lots have about 3,400 spots and the long-term lots hold around 500 vehicles. There are eight airlines serving ABQ Sunport that fly to and from several domestic and international destinations.
Sunport has several options for dining from the quick Panda Express to the sit down Rio Grande Brew Pub & Grill. If shopping is on the mind there is anything from Hudson Bookstore to the Sundancer Trading Co. There is a vast array of services including ATMs, Free Wi-Fi and Mail & Package Drop.
