Tatum Park is part of the Monmouth County Park System, founded in 1973. At 366 acres, it is one of the larger parks located in Middletown, with two access areas on Red Hill Road and at 144 Holland Road.
Charles Tatum, a glass manufacturer New York, bought the property in 1905 as a summer home for his family. It was a member of the Tatum family that donated the initial 73 acres in the early 1970s, which became Tatum Park.
There are multiple trails within the park for hikers, bikers and horse riders as well as two activities centers, Red Hill Activity Center and Holland Activity Center, for sports, fitness classes and children's activities. A playground is also sited nearby the Red Hill Activity Center.
