Inside Out CURE: Muhammad Zeshan, MD
My name is Muhammad Zeshan, MD, and I am a Board Certified child and adult psychiatric care provider at Inside Out CURE, in Princeton, New Jersey. What makes the Inside Out practice ideal for you, your child, and your loved ones?My father passed away in 2019 in Pakistan while I was completing my child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at Harvard. On my flight to Pakistan, I was overwhelmed with feelings of sadness, shame, and guilt for not being able to say goodbye and not spending enough time with him during my training. I started to feel heaviness in my eyes, chest, head, arms, and legs. It was too much for me to cope with, and I felt like doing something to distract myself.I turned on the television and started scrolling through some movies. Suddenly I found Inside Out. While watching the animated film, I was impressed to notice how the lead character decided to leave the house out of anger, disgust, and resentment towards her parents. But then she was able to reconnect immediately with her family when she started thinking about the love, affection, and care that she received from them during difficult times in her life. Realizing the impact of positive feelings on someones thoughts and behavior, I began thinking of the wonderful moments that I shared with my father. I reflected on his hopes for me to become a competent doctor, a proud son, a loving and caring brother to my younger siblings, and above all, a kind and empathic human being. With a newfound sense of gratitude for the guidance he provided me in shaping my life, I started to focus on how to help my family cope with his passing, and celebrate his influence on others.I chose the name Inside Out for my practice because I want to bring joy, optimism, resilience, and compassion to the lives of my patients and their families. I aim to utilize my diverse clinical experience and a non-judgmental approach to provide excellent care to all! Inside Out is a fee-for-service practice that does not participate with any insurance plans, including Medicare or Medicaid.
