The South Jersey Breast Cancer Coalition (SJBCC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 by breast cancer survivors. Their mission is to raise awareness about breast cancer through education, advocacy, and action to change public policy. They provide information and education to individuals, increase public awareness through outreach efforts, improve access to high-quality breast cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, care, and clinical trials, and aim to involve those living with breast cancer in all aspects of clinical trial design.
In addition to their advocacy work, the SJBCC has established the Carolyn J. Ochs Assistance Fund to provide financial assistance to individuals with breast cancer. They have also dedicated a breast cancer awareness section in the Marie Fleche Memorial Library in memory of a board member, Kim Casamassima, who lost her battle with stage 4 breast cancer. The SJBCC is committed to making a difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer in South Jersey.
