As one of four schools in the New Providence School District, Salt Brook Elementary School is "dedicated to excellence," with more than 50 faculty members instructing approximately 600 students. Curriculum areas include Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, Technology Literacy, Music, Art, Physical Education, Health, Library and Information Skills, and Global Cultures. Other programs include Chorus, Orchestra, Band, World Languages, Media Skills, Reading Specialist, Guidance, English Language Learner, Basic Skills Instruction, and Gifted and Talented.
The PTA is very active with fundraising for this elementary school. Lunch is offered each day to students, and a menu is posted on the school's website. An after-school daycare program is available through YMCA of Summit, where children are picked up and brought to the YMCA facility.
