This holistic approach can speed recovery and prevent future problems before they occur. He has worked with all types of athletes and was for many years, a consulting orthopedist for Randolph High School and County College of Morris athletics. He says, A large part of my role as an Orthopedic Surgeon is as a teacher and an advisor, explaining to the patients and their families what the problem is, what are the treatment options, and helping them to make the correct decision that will help them to recover and get back to life. Most of the time, the best way forward is with nonoperative methods. However, when treatment calls for surgery, I use leading-edge surgical techniques, equipment, and procedures to yield the best possible outcomes. Dr. Rubmans research interests include meniscus repair and joint replacement options. He is the coauthor of articles and abstracts that are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals, including Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, Journal of Arthroplasty, American Journal of Orthopedics, and American Journal of Sports Medicine. He is double Board-certified in both Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery. With the amazing help of not one, but two strong, caring, and selfless individuals who donated a kidney to him, Dr. Rubman is today a healthy kidney transplant recipient. He is a tireless advocate for organ donation. He volunteers his time to speak to local groups and individuals and councils many patients with renal failure on the transplant process. He strongly believes that his experience as a patient has made him a more caring provider and better physician. He explained having gone thru a long, complicated, and stressful process, I am able to truly understand what illness and injury can take away and how with the help of skilled providers, you can recover and get back the most important things in your life. When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Rubman enjoys an occasional bad round of golf, being outdoors, reading about history and current world events, and spending time with his family and friends.
