Ali Ahmad, MD, FACC, is part of Summit Healths Cardiology team. Dr. Ahmad is a licensed and board-certified cardiologist with more than 10 years of experience treating patients in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. His area of expertise includes the diagnosis and management of cardiac and peripheral vascular disease and cardiac imaging. He is board certified in adult echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, coronary CT angiography, and is a registered physician in peripheral vascular interpretation (RPVI). Dr. Ahmad is recognized by patients for his dedication, compassionate care, expertise and thorough approach. His philosophy of care concentrates on forming lifelong relationships with his patients, passing knowledge along to them, and giving them the tools needed to manage chronic health conditions.Prior to joining Summit Health in 2019, Dr. Ahmad practiced at Atlantic Cardiology and Cardiac Care Associates, with clinical privileges at Gagnon Cardiovascular Institute at Morristown Medical Center, Jersey Shore University Medical Center and Hackettstown Medical Center.Dr. Ahmad received his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience and Behavior with a minor in English at Columbia University in New York City, and his medical degree at St. Georges University in Grenada, West Indies. He went onto complete his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Cardiovascular diseases at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. He is an active member and fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Ahmad has engaged in clinical research in coronary CT angiography and the prevalence of atherosclerosis in myocardial bridging.Outside of work, Dr. Ahmad enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, reading and creative writing/poetry.
