Everyone Treated Like Family!;New Patients Welcome;Cosmetic Dentistry; Removable Dentures.
Dentures are a removable appliance that can replace a couple of teeth to the entire arch. There are many different styles of dentures with their own benefits and disadvantages. No matter what style of denture, there is a learning curve that usually takes a good month to get use to your new denture especially for a new denture patient. The advantage is that denture will replace teeth on both sides for a single price, as well as, usually being the most economically option. Now, being the most economically option means you have to settle the most though. Some individuals simply never get use to wearing a denture especially a lower denture. Denture will also collect and hold food against your nature teeth causing your natural to break down quicker. My preference is for the Valplast? Denture (aka flexible base) since the clasp are pink which allows them to be hidden better plus we can keep the top of your mouth open.
Fixed Crown and Bridge
Crown and Bridge is a glued in appliance that allows us to replace missing teeth. You need strong healthy teeth on both sides of the missing teeth to support and hold the bridge. Ideally, crown and bridge is good for replacing one to two teeth. Treatment time is usually 2 weeks. These disadvantages include the permanent damage to the adjacent teeth to prepare them for the end support as well as the difficulty to floss around and under the fake tooth.
Implants
Implants are truly the ideal and best treatment option to replace missing teeth. Implant is a titanium metal root that gets placed where your natural tooth root was. We then attached a single crown to this implant. We can place multiple implants and do the crown and bridge concept. Therefore, when you don?t have healthy teeth on both sides of the missing teeth or 3 or more teeth missing in a row, we still have options. The advantage of an implant is leaving adjacent untreated, no special flossing techniques need to be learned, as well as the best long term prognosis. The main disadvantage is the length of treatment. After the implant is placed, we have to allow it to heal for a few months before we can start the crown procedures. You may need a temporary tooth replacement treatment if you?re missing teeth are a cosmetic concern. Implants can also be used to hold a denture in place which is a great asset when talking how to hold a full lower denture in place.
