Housed in the Hillsborough Municipal Building, the Hillsborough Police Department serves and protects the town's residents. With about 55 sworn officers and 14 civilian employees, the department has divisions for patrolling the township, investigating crimes, police reports, and traffic safety.
The department uses Nixle alerts for road closures, and the "A Child is Missing" alert notification system network to locate missing children. It also sponsors community outreach events, including its Bike Safety Rodeo, a two-ball basketball tournament and other events.
Police Chief Paul Kaminsky leads the department.
