Freehold Township High School was built in 1972 on 110 acres in the residential area of Elton-Adelphia Road.
The school is one of six in the Freehold Regional School District and educates 2,230 students in grades nine through 12. The district has specialized learning centers for high-achieving students at each of its schools; Freehold Township High School houses the Contemporary Global Issues Learning Center.
Freehold Township High School has a competitive athletic program, capturing eight division championships in the 2008 - 2009 school year.
