Andreas Park
Andreas Park, located on the banks of the Hackensack River, offers an entrance to the Hackensack River Greenway Trail. Visitors can easily explore the wooded area only a short walk from the park. Featuring tennis courts and playground equipment, Andreas Park is also easily accessible from two nearby New Jersey Transit bus stops. The park is named for Maria W. Andreas, of the Andreas family, many of whom were noted civic leaders in Teaneck. The family estate once stood in what is now Andreas Park. Federick Andreas, Maria's son, lived in the house until 1951, when he deeded the property to the township with the agreement that it would be turned into a public park. Today, the park serves as a memorial to the Andreas family for their dedication to the community.
