History
Allison Task Career & Life Coaching was created to help client determine and reach personal and professional goals. My clients range from students just out of college to a mid-career parent in their 40s, or someone on the cusp of retirement. I help people figure out what they want to do with their lives and then do it. I graduated from Cornell in 1994 with a degree in Human Development. Many of my classmates went onto careers in social work or therapy -- I wanted to do something different, more active and goal-oriented. I graduated form a coaching program at New York University in 2006, and it was exactly what I was looking for. That same one-on-one client model as therapy, but I could be goal-oriented, helping clients accelerate toward where they want to be. Today, I see clients across the US (and in Europe and Canada), in my office, via phone or Skype. I look forward to connecting with you and helping you live the life you want to live.
Specialties
I help clients build their careers and lives. I coach people during transitions: finding that first job after graduating from college, transitioning into marriage and children while balancing personal and professional needs, reevaluating a career and determining more satisfying options, moving forward after job loss / divorce, preparing for retirement. All new clients start with an introductory session, where we jump in and start with a powerful questioning exercise right off the bat. I'll give you a personalize notebook so that you can record your Insights and Next Steps, and have a tangible plan that you can begin executing as soon as you leave the office (many life-changing emails have been sent from my parking lot!). Together, we'll decide which of my programs will best serve your needs, whether that's a 2 month, 3 month intensive, or 6 month program. I am able to work with clients on the phone, via Zoom or in person. Let's do this!
