Richard A. Rosa, MD, FACS, specializes in the treatment of knee, hip, and shoulder problems. His expertise includes minimally invasive surgery, patient-specific custom total knee replacements, partial (unicompartmental) knee replacements, total hip replacement, arthroscopic knee surgery (including meniscal surgery, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction, and meniscal repair), and arthroscopic shoulder surgery (including arthroscopic rotator cuff repair). He also has extensive experience with the innovative subchondroplasty joint preservation procedure.An innovator in his field, Dr. Rosa has helped design and develop state-of-the-art knee implants, instruments, and surgical techniques, including a unicompartmental knee arthroplasty system. Dr. Rosa is the first orthopedic surgeon in New Jersey and among the first dozen orthopedic surgeons worldwide to implant a computer-generated 3D printed patient-specific knee replacements.Dr. Rosa is Director of the Saint Barnabas Medical Center Joint Institute in Livingston, New Jersey. He completed his fellowship at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Rosa served as Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery and attending physician at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey New Jersey Medical School in Newark, now Rutgers Medical School.
