Souhegan High School, located in Amherst, N.H., offers a variety of educational and cocurricular programs to more than 1,000 students in grades nine through 12. It is affiliated with Souhegan Cooperative School District, which is administered by School Administrative Unit 39. Founded in 1992, the school is a member of the Coalition of Essential Schools, which is a national school reformatory network. Coalition of Essential Schools is guided by a set of research-tested principles pertaining to including school design, leadership, curriculum and instruction. The school offers various programs, such as English, mathematics, science, social studies, and classical and modern languages. It also offers various elective courses, including art, technology, performing arts and physical education.
