History
ROAD to a Better Life began as a Suboxone clinic for the treatment of primarily heroin addiction at Pinewood Medical Center in 2004. As prescription opioids became more plentiful clients increasingly presented with substance misuse of oxycodone, morphine and methadone. While Suboxone (buprenorphine) is an excellent medication with which to eliminate withdrawal and mitigate craving, it alone did not address deeply ingrained behaviors associated with addiction. Relapse was unfortunately too common. We then integrated well-trained community therapists and counselors and onsite highly accurate urine testing, thus transforming the clinic into a true program and R.O.A.D. to a Better Life was born. R.O.A.D (Recovery from Opioids, Alcohol and other Drugs) can now boast of recidivism rates below 30% at the one-year mark. In less than 8 years, ROAD to a Better Life has grown from two facilities to 5, scattered over the state of New Hampshire to better serve those in need.
