Reeds Ferry Our History Reeds Ferry Small Buildings, Inc manufactures high quality custom-crafted sheds, utility buildings, gazebos, and pool cabanas. Established in 1960 by the late Hobart D. Carleton, the company has 47 years of manufacturing experience. Today the third generation of the Carleton family owns and operates the business. We built our first shed just north of Nashua NH in the town of Reeds Ferry, hence our name. The town was named for Wilber Reed. During the 1700 and 1800's Mr. Reed operated a ferry along the Merrimack River between Litchfield and Merrimack. In 1969 our growing company needed a larger production facility, so we transferred to our current headquarters along Rt. 111 in Hudson NH. Of course after the move we kept the name Reeds Ferry, because it's like our product... one-of-a-kind.
