History
In the late 1800's and early 1900's Partridge Cabins was a cattle farm with over 300 acres. Most of the land is now under the First Connecticut Lake. During the 1930's and 1940's, then President Rooservelt needed to keep men working, he started the Conservation Corp. Their primary job was to replante forrest that had been destoyed due to the need for wood for the war effort. These men then started to build dams and roads. Which is what they did up here in Pittsburg, they built what is now called Route 3 to the Canadian boarder. Some of the cabins they built and stayed in during this time were moved here and the farm became a lodge with cabins to rent and was known as The Last Frontier. We are unsure of when the name changed to Partridge Cabins, but we do know that our place has a rich history!
