In October 2005, the name Northway Bank was unveiled at 20 locations in 15 communities across central and northern New Hampshire. However, the history of this locally owned community bank actually goes back more than 100 years. That s when two community banks, the Berlin City Bank and Pemigewasset National Bank, first opened to serve individuals and businesses in New Hampshire. The banks merged in 1997 under the name Northway Financial, which now serves as the holding for Northway Bank. The bank offers its products and services primarily in Ashland, Belmont, Berlin, Campton, Conway, Franklin, Gorham, Groveton, Laconia, Littleton, North Woodstock, Pittsfield, Plymouth, Tilton and West Ossipee, N.H.
