In 1951, Hendrix Wire & Cable began manufacturing and marketing its newly invented electrical distribution system called a Spacer Cable. The Spacer Cable proved to greatly reduce power outages caused by various elements in the environment. Other benefits soon recognized included less tree trimming, reduced right of way concerns, ease of operation in contaminated environments, and the ability to span cable over a long distance. In the long run, all of these factors contributed to overall lower operating costs. Today, the Hendrix Wire & Cable s product line includes underground cable, spacer cable, tree wire, insulators, and other overhead accessory products. Centered in Milford, N.H., Hendrix is now a member company of The Marmon Group.
